Congratulations to the Black Socks

Congratulations to the mighty Black Socks – World Softball Champions for a record 6th time!

I was privileged to be able to provide legal advice on the commercial arrangements entered into by the special purpose vehicle established to run the 2013 ISF Men’s World Softball Championships held in Auckland on March 1-10.

After all of the hard work by those involved in running the event, behind the scenes, it was great to be able to share in their success by watching the event run smoothy – with the icing on the cake being that the Black Socks emerged victorious.  Friday night’s tough win over Australia gave New Zealand a finals berth – and after an exciting (and tense) game they overcame Venezuela 4-1 in the final.  Phew!
